Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice
Lando Norris has beaten his teammate at all of the past five race weekends.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the closing stages of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The British racer, who seized the points lead from his teammate by just one point after his victory in Mexico City recently, beat the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Before then, Oscar Piastri had been the leading McLaren throughout the hour before sprint qualifying due at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the points battle, lying 36 points Norris, finished in 17th place as his team opted for a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to crash, albeit lightly, when he spun at the fourth corner early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the track edges before rotating through the gravel trap, and was blessed to escape with just a light touch of the barrier.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also had a spin, at the final moments of the practice, spinning around through the fast downhill corner approaching the last turn on to the main straight.
The veteran finished practice in P19, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were well clear of the remaining drivers, with the German's Sauber third fastest, 0.619secs behind Piastri's pace.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth fastest, with the Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
